Christian School

Calvary Baptist School

A ministry of Calvary Baptist Church

Calvary Baptist School was established in September of 1974 with a purpose of providing an educational program that allows for spiritual, social, and intellectual growth by recognizing the Bible and the Christian principles of life as the pervasive core of all human knowledge and experience. Over the years CBS has grown to facilitate students from preschool through high school. Only in a Christian school can the sacred and the secular be fused together in one comprehensive and true system of education.

Quote from Noah Webster
In my view, the Christian religion is the most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government ought to be instructed… No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people…Education is useless without the Bible.

Our Philosophy

Home

At Calvary Baptist School, it is our firm conviction that proper training first begins at home. The home was the first institution God set on earth. When a child is taught proper discipline and respect in the early years at home, he is then ready to be educated and to develop the skills necessary for him to face life successfully.

Church

God has established His church as the institution directly responsible for the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and upholding the truth of God’s Word. The church has been commissioned by Jesus to Preach the Gospel, Baptize and then Disciple believers. We encourage our families to faithfully attend church in order to achieve the spiritual goals which we desire our children to reach.

School

It is our conviction that a school is an institution set up by man for the education and training of our children. A school should provide both an environment and a curriculum conducive to effective learning. We believe that, as a Christian school, it is our responsibility to build Christian character in our students. We believe that children should be trained to do right according to God’s Word. We believe there is a natural need for well-defined boundaries governing behavior. The teachers in our classrooms are the authority and must be upheld and respected by students and their parents. We expect honesty, personal initiative, obedience, and respectful attitudes.

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
